Introduction

Welcome to the Mad Trapper Trail and Snowshoe Series website. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and participation in our events. By using our website or registering for our races, you agree to these terms.

Registration and Participation

Age Requirements

Participants must meet the minimum age requirements specified for each race. Minors (under 18) must have parent/guardian consent to participate

Registration

Race entries are strictly non-refundable for any reason. Registration closes when capacity is reached or at the specified deadline. Participants must provide accurate personal information during registration


Entry Transfers and Deferrals

Participants may transfer their entry to another runner.

Participants may defer their entry to:

The same race in the following year

Another race of similar value in our series

A higher-value race by paying the difference in entry fees

All transfers and deferrals must be processed through official channels. Deadline for transfers and deferrals will be specified for each race


Race Conduct

Participants must follow all race rules and directions from race officials

Mandatory gear requirements must be met (when applicable)

Participants must stay on marked course trails

No unauthorized assistance or outside aid except at designated aid stations

Littering or environmental damage is strictly prohibited

Race numbers must be visible at all times


Safety and Medical

Participant Responsibilities

Participants are responsible for their own physical preparation and medical fitness

All participants must truthfully disclose relevant medical conditions

Participants accept the inherent risks of trail running in wilderness environments

Participants must assist fellow runners in medical emergencies


Race Organization Rights

We reserve the right to stop or cancel events due to dangerous conditions. Medical staff may remove participants deemed unfit to continue. We may modify course routes or race formats as needed for safety

Liability and Risk

Assumption of Risk

Trail running involves inherent risks including but not limited to:

Varying weather conditions

Rough terrain and obstacles

Wildlife encounters

Remote locations with limited access

Physical exertion

Participants accept these risks when registering


Release of Liability

By registering for any of our races, you acknowledge and agree that:

You release from all liability and waive all claims against:

The race organizers and their staff

All landowners and property managers

All race sponsors and partners

All volunteers and medical personnel

All municipalities and government agencies

Their respective agents, representatives, and successors

This release covers any claims for:

Personal injury

Death

Property damage or loss

Any other losses or damages

Claims arising from negligence or any other cause

This release applies to incidents occurring:

During the race

During pre and post-race activities

While traveling to and from race venues

From use of race facilities or premises

Personal insurance is strongly recommended for all participants.

Media and Privacy

Photography

Race organization reserves the right to use photos/videos from events

Participants grant permission for use of their image in race materials

Commercial use of race photos requires organization approval

Results

Race results will be published publicly

Finish times and standings are considered public information

Participants agree to publication of their race result

Website Use

Account Responsibility

Users are responsible for maintaining account security

Account sharing is not permitted

Users must provide accurate information

Prohibited Activities

Attempting to hack or damage the website

Using automated systems to access the website

Sharing registration codes or discounts without authorization

Changes and Communication

Updates

We may modify these terms at any time

Continued use of website or participation constitutes acceptance

Major changes will be communicated via email

Communication

Race information will be sent to registered email addresses

Participants are responsible for maintaining current contact information

Emergency contacts must be reachable during events

Cancellation and Refunds

Event Cancellation

No refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to:

Weather-related cancellations

Natural disasters

Public health emergencies

Personal emergencies or injuries

In the event of race cancellation, participants will be offered a deferral to:

The same race when rescheduled

The same race the following year

Another race of similar value in our series


Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec, Canada. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.
